A shade of gray.
That’s all that’s left. That’s all that’s standing in the way. Everything hinges on a shade of gray.
The images above are variants of the cover of my book. The first image is what the cover is supposed to look like. Note the mid-range gray and the vibrant purple. Now look at the second image. The bright, vibrant purple became salmon.
Salmon is not, the last time I checked, one of the colors on the ace flag.
I managed to fix that with the latest proof, turning the purple into purple. It’s not bright vibrant purple of the original design, but at least it is a purple color. But in doing so, I managed to make the gray stripe too dark. It doesn’t look like it here, but when you look at the book, the gray stripe looks almost black.
I’ve modified the cover and will be trying again. Hopefully this one will be right. I’ll find out in a week or two.
And that’s where the book stands now. The only thing stopping it from being published is the shade of gray in the stripe on the cover.
