Now it starts again for Kindle…

When the Kindle publishing site said that it would take my file and make it work, I thought that meant it would take my file and make it work.

What they really meant is that they’d take my file, run it through a blender, and pour the results onto the e-ink display.

There’s a page heading in the middle of nowhere, there’s a footnote that doesn’t have a reference, stuff is randomly inserted in the middle of a sentence, some words just seem to be a different size randomly, there’s a TOC that doesn’t actually function as a TOC which has page numbers that don’t actually refer to anything real in the Kindle world, there’s no sense of spacing, no chapter ending page breaks.

So now I have to figure out how to make this turn out reasonable, because it would be a crime to make people pay for the disaster this just made.
