swankivy:

One time I was looking at my stats for my site and wondering what sorts of searches people are doing to find my site.

It was the usual—mostly people searching for my webcomic, for my username, for my famous Eragon essays or stuff about asexuality. But there was one search term whose origin I…

Sometimes at my job, I have to look at search logs to find out when things are going wrong.  I should be used to it by now, but you never really get used to the bizarre (and often very specific) things that people search for.

Anyway, in this case, what likely happened is someone watched one of your videos or read one of your articles where you mentioned the word “penis”, and wanted to refer back to it.  (Haven’t you said something about the “Magical Penis” or something like that?)  Using a few remembered keywords is generally a good way to get back to what you were thinking of, even though it’ll sometimes make for some really strange queries when you look at them out of context.

(And, of course, prepare to have that phrase be your top search query for a few days…)

Now, what I can’t fathom is why people keep landing on my site looking for “nikola tesla porn”…
